Virtual Oils Class

Hello, again! Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am so excited to share more information about Young Living Essential Oils! I attended a "virtual" YLEO class last night and there was so much good information shared! This class was the basic information about Essential Oils, Young Living's specifically. Although there was a lot of good information, I will share the highlights of the class. :)

Essential Oils, What are they?
Essential oils are liquid, volatile, organic compounds that come from trees, shrubs, flowers, bushes, and roots. Essential oils are "essential" because they each carry a distinctive essence of the plant that it came from and contains healing protective properties.  Essential Oils are 50-70 times more powerful than herbs because they are the lifeline of the plant. The oils molecules are actually small enough to penetrate through the skin, even through the blood-brain barrier! Like the oil does in the plant by healing, cleansing, and protecting the plant, the oils do the same to our bodies!
(Note: The Blood-Brain Barrier is a wall of high density cells that restricts passages of substances from the bloodstream into the brain.)

Distillation Process:
This is a vital item to the quality of any essential oils.Young Living uses low temperature steam heat, longer lengths of time, and absolutely no chemicals! Isn't this great?! This is how YLEO are 100% free of any type of adulteration. Other companies use high heat along with chemicals to extract as much essential oils out of the plant materials as they can.

So, what is the difference in brands?
Essential Oils are not all created equally. Many companies state that their oils is "pure," although through research you may find this to be false. The FDA requires that a bottle of essential oil only contain 5% pure essential oil while the rest of what is in the bottle is up to the manufacturer.
For example, the YLEO has a supplement label on it, while the other brand from the health food store states right on it "NOT FOR INTERNAL USE," but yet both are considered 100% pure by the FDA.

4-P's of Young Living:
Plants, Preparation, Purity, and Potency are the 4 P's of YLEO. Organic, virgin soil. Optimal harvest time. Small batches for distillation. No dilution. Extensive testing is done to determine the best harvest time, distillation time, and the best temperature. This is done with every plant.

Hospital Use
There are currently 50 hospitals in the United States that use YLEO exclusively. The stretch from Arizona to Pennsylvania to Alaska to California. This is a big step in the Essential Oils world!
